The rent receipt is a document that confirms that the landlord has received the rent payment from the tenant. This obligatory document attests that the tenant has paid the rent and the charges that he/she must pay to the landlord. This document is important in many administrative procedures, as it justifies the tenant's domicile. Tracking rent payments via a rent receipt helps to avoid errors, such as a tenant claiming to have already paid for the month. You will need certain information to complete your document, such as the property's address, the full name of the tenant(s) living on the property or in the rental unit, the period for which the rent is due, and the date on which the rent payment was received.
