Any legal company can only start its activities after obtaining a SIRET and SIREN number. The CFE office (Centre de formalités des entreprises) is the only authority that can issue this number. You must then write a letter of motivation to inform the CFE of your intention to create a company. The CFE will then decide whether or not your application and file can be validated. Please note that you are obliged to insert the SIRET and SIREN numbers on the official documents concerning your company. Finally, your company will also be automatically registered in the RCNS (Registre national du commerce et des sociétés).
