Here is a free sample letter to notify your unemployment agency that you will not be able to attend your scheduled appointment. Not showing up for an appointment can lead to your disbarment. You can inform by phone of your absence but to assert your rights, personalize and send by registered mail this model letter. Here is a non-exhaustive list of acceptable reasons: return to work, temporary or fixed-term contract, illness of the job seeker or a relative, death of a relative, court summons, appointment with an employer, appointment with a training organization, unforeseen transport problems (strike, accident, breakdown), leave (declared absence of more than 7 days).
